Join researchers from across the UK for two days of discussion on the latest developments in ceramics, their applications and the future direction of the field. The Prof Anthony G. Evans Workshop on Ceramics will bring together experts from across the field to explore current advances in ceramics, with presentations spanning processing, properties and modelling. The workshop will provide an open forum for knowledge exchange, discussion of emerging areas of research and opportunities to develop new collaborations across the UK ceramics community. The workshop forms part of the Royal School of Mines’ 175th anniversary celebrations. The Centre for Advanced Structural Ceramics (CASC) has been based at the Royal School of Mines since its establishment in 2008. The workshop is named in honour of Professor Anthony G. Evans, one of the Royal School of Mines’ most distinguished alumni, whose work has had a lasting influence on the ceramics research community. Alongside the invited presentations, the workshop will include a poster session, providing an opportunity for students and researchers to share their work and discuss their research with other attendees. The workshop will take place on 14–15 December 2026 at the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College London . Registration is free, and all students, researchers and industry professionals with an interest in ceramics are welcome to attend. About Centre for Advanced Structural Ceramics CASC started in July 2008 with EPSRC funding (£5.5M) for a five-year programme. EPSRC funding ended in June 2013, and the Centre continues to thrive. The CASC has a large number of projects collaborating directly with industrial partners from the UK and abroad as well as research co-funded by goverment agencies. An Industrial consortium has been set up to build on CASC’s early success, enable its sustainability and to develop long-term and fruitful relationships between CASC-associated academics and the industrial structural ceramics commun
