HOW DOES OUR SIGNING DIFFER FROM A BOOK FAIR OR A CON?
At RARE we focus on the attendee/author relationship. Each attendee will have the opportunity to find new-to-you authors and meet as many signing authors as possible.
Depending on ticket type purchased, you'll have 8 or 6 hours to be in the signing room to get your books/items signed, chat and take pictures with authors. There is no additional ticket or fee to meet or have your pictures taken with authors on event day.
Bring books from home or purchase books from authors or our on site bookseller. Some authors will have pre order forms so that you can order directly from them. Since most authors will be traveling they may not have many extras to sell on the day. If you don't have physical books to be signed feel free to bring other items, all authors are happy to sign them for you.
IS THE VENUE DISABILITY FRIENDLY?
The event space is located across two floors but has step free access between both levels. There are ramps and lifts at all main entrances to Olympia as well as passenger lifts to provide access to upper levels.
For more details please see the Olympia website.

CARER TICKETS:
If you require a carer to assist you to the event, carer tickets are available free of charge upon presentation of a valid disability card or other document which shows that you require a companion or carer. Please note that it should either have your photo on it or your name which
matches the name on your ticket.
Disability cards may vary slightly depending on your country of origin, but examples may include:
o Access/Nimbus Card with a +1 Symbol (need for an essential companion)
o A Companion Card
o Other country specific documentation
Please note: A free Carer ticket means the Carer WILL NOT participate in the signing – they will be there for support only and will receive a different wristband to attendees with tickets. If your carer is a book lover and would like to participate in the signing, then they will be required to purchase a full priced ticket.
Each attendee who submits the proper information for disability and or carer will still be required to wait in queues. Feel free to wait to the side of the queue as it is easier to navigate and there will be less of a crowd, in addition your carer can wait for you until it is your turn as well. Once you go to the side let the person in front and back of you in the queue know you are in the queue but waiting to the side. Feel free to also let the Line Ambassador/Assistant know as well.
Once you approach the signing room entrances there will be an area at the front of the queue with extra chairs for Early Entry and for General Admission. Feel free to wait have and have a seat. A RARE team member will open the door for the this queue approximately 15 minutes early to avoid having the large queue rush
