Richard Rozze and his trio present a night of interpreting music from composers as diverse as Jerome Kern, George Harrison and Sheryl Crow, via traditional folk tunes and Richard’s own original compositions. RICHARD ROZZE Richard is a jazz musician at heart - his music has embraced bebop, rock, blues, Celtic and bluegrass, as an electric and acoustic guitarist, vocalist, composer and arranger. His music is always searching - ever expanding into different musical areas. He continues to collaborate with some of the best artists and composers in the UK. He can be seen performing solo, in his trio or in larger ensembles as a band leader and side man. Growing up playing classic blues rock in his teens, Richard later discovered musicians such as Miles Davis, Pat Metheny, John Abercrombie and Wes Montgomery which led him to a deeper passion for improvisation. Also having a love for songwriting and the songs of great ‘Tunesmiths,’ Richard finds freedom in exploring all of these influences in his trio. Having studied with many fine musicians such as John Parricelli, Colin Oxley at the Guildhall School of Music in London and lately with, Bruce Forman and Robben Ford, have shaped his career as an accomplished jazz musician. Richard is delighted to be joined by two of his favourite musicians, Tristan Mailliot on drums (Art Farmer, Jim Hall, Bobby Shew, Scott Hamilton, Peter King, Stan Tracey, Jim Mullen), and Davide Mantovani on bass (Lisa Stansfield, Alex Wilson, Neil Angilley). ” Richard Rozze is an artist who has successfully forged a unique approach to his playing and compositions.
