A roundtable discussion on the property risk intelligence gap is set for 17 September 2026 at Lloyd's of London in London. Leading property underwriters will meet to discuss bridging the intelligence gap with various performers present. The conference is free to attend.
Join a group of leading property underwriters in a roundtable as we discuss the property risk intelligence gap and how to bridge it.
"Pick the wrong risk, and it could cost you a hundred million. Wrong pricing, maybe a hundred thousand. That's the asymmetry nobody talks about."
Chief Underwriting Officer, global carrier
The subject:
Only 7% of UK properties are adequately characterised in underwriting files. The other 93% are insured for the wrong amount.
Your underwriters already know this. They spend half their working week on it:
50–55% of underwriter time goes on chasing data rather than judging risk
40–50% of submissions arrive incomplete
~25% manual error rate in underwriting workflows
3 to 5 out of 10 — how underwriters rate their access to risk intelligence at the moment of decision
"We are making billion-dollar portfolio decisions on data that wouldn't pass a first-year audit."
Chief Underwriting Officer, global carrier
The session:
On 17 September we are convening a small, expert group at Lloyd's Lab to work through what this means in practice — and how to fix it.
Anthony Peake, CEO of Intelligent AI, and Sabine VanderLinden, CEO of Alchemy Crew Ventures, will open with a short conversation setting out the research findings and where they diverge from received wisdom in the market. Sabine will then chair a roundtable held under the Chatham House Rule.
This is a working session, not a presentation. The room is capped at 15 so that everyone can contribute.
Agenda:
09:45 — Arrival, coffee, badge collection
10:00 — Framing the gap: Anthony Peake and Sabine VanderLinden in conversation
10:30 — Roundtable, chaired by Sabine VanderLinden (Chatham House Rule)
11:45 — Close, and refreshments
The session ends formally at 11:45. Refreshments and open conversation run until 12:30
Who should be in the room:
The session is designed for people with direct accountability for commercial property risk selection, pricing, or portfolio exposure:

• MGAs — CUOs and Directors of Underwriting, Heads of Property, Heads of Delegated Authority
