About This Event

Safeguarding Under Pressure: Responding to New Threats and Old Inequalities.

Please join us either in person or online for an inspiring and impactful Safeguarding Conference

Safeguarding has never been more complex or more important.

Across our services, we are seeing rising demand, increasing complexity, and new forms of harm emerging alongside long-standing inequalities that continue to impact the people we support. From hidden abuse and exploitation to the everyday realities of disadvantage, safeguarding today requires us to think differently, act decisively, and work more closely together than ever before.

This year's CLCH Safeguarding Conference invites you to step back, reflect, and re-focus. Together, we will explore the challenges shaping modern safeguarding practice while sharing practical insight, learning from real experiences, and highlighting what makes a difference on the ground.

Expect a day of honest conversations, fresh perspectives, and meaningful learning. We'll look at how we recognise hidden harms, respond to evolving risks, and address inequality in a way that truly puts people at the centre of our work.

The conference will feature a keynote presentation from Kenny Gibson, Deputy Director for NHS Safeguarding, who will share insights into the emerging safeguarding landscape and the challenges and opportunities facing professionals across health and care services.

Delegates will also hear important updates on key safeguarding priorities, including Prevent, suicide prevention, and domestic abuse, helping attendees stay informed about current developments in policy and practice.

We are also pleased to welcome Jack Barber from the London Intelligence Unit, Counter Terrorism Policing, who will deliver a session on the growing threat of online groups targeting children and young people. This session will explore how these groups operate, the risks they pose, and how practitioners can identify and respond to concerns effectively.

Most importantly, this conference is about action. How we strengthen our practice. How we support each other. And how, even under pressure, we continue to safeguard with compassion, curiosity, and confidence.

Don't miss the opportunity to be part of this important conversation and help shape the future of safeguarding practice. Secure your place today.
