**SAT 10/10 - Art Deco Architecture 🏢 & Drinks 🍻— Ealing & Perivale** We’re hosting a relaxed, **architecture**‑focused afternoon (followed by **refreshments** 🍻). We'll explore some of **Perivale**’s finest **Art** **Deco** landmarks. Expect **good** **weather**, easy company, and a chance to learn about four standout 1930s/1940s buildings — from transport modernism to industrial Deco. 📍 **Meeting Point** Outside **Perivale Tube Station at 2pm** / **Ealing Broadway Station outside M&S at 1.15pm** 🚇 Stop 1 — Perivale Tube Station (Charles Holden, 1947) A classic example of London Transport modernism: clean brick geometry, clerestory glazing, and Holden’s signature stripped‑back Deco influence. We’ll talk about its post‑war completion and how it fits into Holden’s wider architectural language. 🏢 Stop 2 — The Pineapple Building (Wallis, Gilbert & Partners, 1930s) A 10‑minute walk from the station. This former industrial building carries the unmistakable Wallis, Gilbert & Partners style — bold massing, Deco ornament, and playful commercial modernism. Great for graphic compositions and detail shots. 🍽️ Stop 3 — The Hoover Canteen (Wallis, Gilbert & Partners, 1932) Part of the original Hoover complex, the canteen is a smaller but beautifully proportioned Deco structure.
