The Society for Storytelling invites you to a friendly day and a half of performances, keynote speeches, workshops, discussions, stalls and music celebrating the art of oral storytelling in different cultures.

Gather in our beautiful venue by the Thames. Explore the power of oral storytelling to communicate, entertain, build empathy and express our cultures, identities and histories. Everyone is welcome!

Programme:

Special guests: Taffy Thomas, MBE (the UK’s first Storyteller Laureate and Patron of the Society for Storytelling.)

Doris Harper-Wills (storyteller, author and Windrush legend who has pioneered Caribbean folklore in Britain.)

Open Mic Stories: everyone welcome.

Workshops and talks include: Kamishibai – with Sarah Rundle, Sauna Storytelling- with Fleur Shorthouse, Disability and Storytelling -with Vickie Orton, Storytelling in the African Caribbean Oral Tradition -with Jane Grell (and more)

Live Storytelling Performance: House of Rumour — a showcase of London’s newest storytelling talent inspired by Ovid’s Metamorphoses. Programmed by Laura Sampson
