ENABLE, the group that oversee events in Battersea Park, have limited the amount of races we can offer in the Spring/Summer to two races. They say this directive is being applied to all community events, although it seems that it doesn't apply to Coorporate events and Park Run. We used to offer 18 races per year, but now can only offer 4. We are very sad about this, and apologise to the large community of runners we have been serving for over 40 years.

We will put on three 5K races, one in June and two in September. Our annual Relay race - the Battersea Relays - will be on July 21st. Please note, the September races will start at 6;30pm.

The Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team has been organising races in London since 1981. As a family of running enthusiasts we welcome competitive club runners, seasoned trailblazers, fitness lovers and novices. At all of our races you will experience a warm welcome, a supportive team of dedicated volunteers, efficient and professional race management and flat runner-friendly courses.

Event Profile: Our 5K course is 2 laps on traffic-free avenues inside Battersea Park. The race is UKA Certified accurate and manually timed to UKA Standards.

HQ Location: Find us on Carriage Drive East between the Boating Lake and Millennium Arena running track - 30 metres from Pear Tree Cafe.

Registration Information: All runners must register online. Your race number will be mailed to you the week before the race. Registration closes 3 days prior to the race or once the race is full. The start line is 300 metres from the Race HQ.

Baggage Drop: We will provide a bag drop area at the Race HQ. We will do our best to watch over the bag area, but valuables are left there at your own risk. All items should fit in one bag. A baggage tag will be sent out to you with your race number.

We are inclusive of all members of the LGBT+ community and welcome entrants as Female, Male or Non-Binary. Only Male and Female categories will be captured in results for ranking purposes, however all non-binary times are captured in the overall race results. The reason for this is we must adhere to the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) Rules & Regulations.

Inspiration: Our races focus on giving each runner a good experience, an opportunity to transcend their limits and achieve their personal goals. Our inspiration is Sri Chinmoy (1931-2007), the founder of our Marathon Team, who was not only an avid athlete and pioneer in the world of running and ultra-running races, but a teacher of meditation. He recognised the sport of running as a powerful way to develop concentration, confidence, determination, peace of mind and happiness.
