"Stitching Time: British Library" is a free workshop scheduled for 6 October 2026 at The British Library in London. Participants will engage in sewing activities inspired by the library's extensive resources and surroundings.
Join RIBA Learning as we return to the British Library for another afternoon of sewing and chat inspired by the impressive surroundings and extensive collection of the British Library. Come along to meet new people or chat to an old friend, while you stitch shapes, words, patterns or drawings with thread. Contribute to an ever-evolving embroidery representing the people, places and the conversations that unfold throughout the workshop. For all ages, under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult. Booking is advised. The session will be held in the British Library’s Learning Centre on the lower ground floor. Stitching Time is a travelling project that will visit several venues over the 3-year refurbishment of the RIBA’s HQ building. RIBA Learning will ‘take the sew on the road’ to engage with the public and build a community of stitchers and contributors.
