Morning — Stonehenge
Around 90 minutes on site
▼
We arrive mid-morning at one of Britain's most extraordinary prehistoric monuments. The stones have stood on Salisbury Plain for over 5,000 years, older than the Great Pyramids, and no one can say for certain why they're here. You'll have around 90 minutes to wander among the stones and explore the visitor centre, which pieces together how they were quarried in Wales, hauled across the country, and raised by a people who left nothing written behind. There's time to browse the gift shop before we head on.
Afternoon — Windsor
Over 3 hours of free time
▼
Over three hours in Windsor, all yours from the moment you arrive. Your guide will have lunch recommendations ready and suggest the best time to visit Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. Beyond the castle, the Long Walk stretches two and a half miles through Windsor Great Park, or you can cross the bridge into Eton and wander through one of England's most famous school towns.
5.30pm — Return to London
Via Runnymede
▼
We make our way back through the Thames Valley, passing Runnymede where King John sealed the Magna Carta in 1215. You'll also spot the JFK Memorial, set on an acre of ground gifted to the United States in his honour. We aim to return to South Kensington by approximately 5.30pm.
