About This Event

A talk titled Honouring Our Own regarding writing Hackney's Black history occurs on 10 October 2026 at Harriet Delph Community Room in London. The event is held at Abney Park with refreshments provided and there is no cost to attend.

Hear from the writers researching Hackney's Black history ahead of a new book – a free talk at Abney Park with refreshments.

Join the writers behind Honouring Our Own, a forthcoming book on Hackney's Black history, as they share what they have found in the archives and in Abney Park itself.

Five researchers from the project will talk about their discoveries and the stories behind them, followed by the chance to find out how to get involved as a community researcher.

Refreshments will be provided.

Honouring Our Own is produced by More Curricular CIC with the Hackney Society, in partnership with Abney Park Trust, as part of Hackney Black History Season 2026, supported by Hackney Council.

Free – all welcome. Please book a ticket so we can plan for numbers.
