This is a friendly social walk..just for fun... fancy dress optional.. but recommended. Bring lights & lanterns for added atmosphere.
Actual walk is probably 30-40minutes. But we do it slow, with some stopovers along the way... for a night-picnic.
Bring some food and drinks for your self and maybe to share.
Bring pumpkins, Lanterns, and battery operated lights.. costumes.. masks etc.
Thames Tide if it's low we may get down the steps for some photos.
Our small ritual for ancestors
So as part of our annual Thames walk at Halloween, we perform a small ritual (10minutes) and each of us would throw some coins (1p, 2p, 5p) into the river Thames .. as payment for any souls who didn't have the money to pay the Ferryman.
2 ----- PRACTICAL INFO / Riverside -------
***This is a FREE event** (donations welcome)!
Meeting point/ time: 7pm.
Please meet at the riverside entrance steps of
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Bankside pier, New Globe walk, SE1 9DT.
Riverside -These events are held in a public area close to Thames shore,. On occassions, we may go down closer to riverbank and stay about 5-10meters away from water's edge. There are concrete steps going down from pavement to rivershore. Our rituals are planned on date/evening time where tide is low.
