About The Children

The Children at Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is Lucy Kirkwood’s darkly funny drama about Hazel and Robin, who have survived a catastrophe and are living on the edge of a radiation exclusion zone. They are trying to keep normal life going, with Hazel practising yoga and Robin brewing parsnip wine.

When their old friend Rose arrives, she brings old memories, buried secrets and a proposition that forces the three of them to confront loyalty, responsibility and their debt to the next generation.

Key facts: This is a 10th anniversary production directed by Artistic Director Rachel O’Riordan.
