About The Comedy About Spies

The Comedy About Spies is playing at the Adelphi Theatre, Strand, London, as a limited 8-week run in London’s West End. Mischief’s spy comedy returns following a sold-out 2025 summer season, and it won Best New Play at the WhatsOnStage Awards 2026.

From the team behind The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery, the show follows a rogue British agent, CIA and KGB spies, a clueless young couple and a hapless actor at London’s Piccadilly Hotel as everyone chases the same top-secret file.

Set in the 1960s, the production centres on confused missions, tangled identities and miscommunication as the situation spirals out of control. Reviews quoted by the venue describe it as “breathlessly funny” and “brilliantly bungling”.

Running time: 2 hours and 20 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.
