During the 3rd edition the festival you will be able to hear some of those outstanding voices in their element. Let's celebrate again the broad and abundant vocal excellence in London, together at Jazz Café POSK during the weekend of 2nd and 3rd of October 2026! Saturday 3 October 2026: Set 1: BASIA BARTZ Set 2: CHARLIE PYNE Set 3: IAN SHAW Set 4: NORMA WINSTONE SET 1 (8 pm): BASIA BARTZ Trio Born and raised in Poland, vocalist, violinist and pianist Basia Bartz has established herself as a prolific player on the London music scene. She’s been a member of a myriad of bands and projects across genres, spanning jazz, folk, Americana and experimental… Basia began singing and composing original songs in 2019. For her piano-led compositions Basia put together a jazz trio and currently they are in the process of recording their debut album. In this intimate set of original compositions and jazz standards Basia will combine sounds from musical worlds she’s visited and weave them into an intricate and evocative musical tapestry. As well as writing and recording her own original music, Charlie has always championed the Great American Songbook and grew up listening to and playing music from the swing era, which comes across in her joyful approach to this fantastic music. Tonight, Charlie and her band will celebrate one of the most iconic jazz singers, the woman who defined the sound of the swing era: Peggy Lee. Shaw's recordings and live performances as a jazz singer have been recognised by two BBC jazz awards (2004 and 2007), a Parliamentary award (2018) and numerous award nominations including Downbeat Magazine (2017) and Jazz FM (2013 and 2019). Tonight Ian Shaw will perform his hugely popular solo show, taking in Joni Mitchell, classic American standards, a smattering of contemporary songwriters (Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Stevie Wonder), laced with some of his pithy and often moving originals. Then there are places we have only heard about or can imagine. They often inspire music. I love both the reality and the imagined. My songs tonight will be about that sense of attachment, or... imagination”. Get ready for a rare treat indeed! Norma Winstone is widely considered one of the best jazz artists in the world. She has been at the forefront of vocal jazz for many years and recorded several albums for ECM with her European trio (one of which was nominated for a Grammy).
