Three Ghosts of Silvertown
by James Kenworth
24-30 August | Tate Institute, Silvertown, Newham
Three class-war ghosts rise from the poverty-stricken streets of Victorian Silvertown to revisit the exploitation and inequality of their past - and discover uncomfortable echoes in the present.
Refusing to let history have the final word, they re-stage the famous Silvertown Strike, led by socialist firebrand Eleanor Marx, but this time create a radically different ending.
Set to a pulsating techno and house soundtrack, Three Ghosts of Silvertown combines spoken word, movement and theatrical energy, bringing professional artists together with Newham's exciting young talent.
