About the Collection
Each item in the Topman x ST.ART Gallery collection features artwork from one of three exceptional emerging artists:
Akilah Chambers is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in drawing. She graduated with First Class Honours in Illustration from Arts University Bournemouth (2023) and completed The Drawing Year postgraduate programme at the Royal Drawing School (2024). Her artistic practice emerges from a deep engagement with augmented observation and imaginative narrative, captivated by the enigmatic energy of human character. Working primarily with pencil, oil pastel, soft pastel, and printmaking techniques, her figures are shaped by an internal self ideology. Recent exhibitions include The Best of The Drawing Year at Christie's, London (2024) and The Drawing Year 2024 End of Year Exhibition at the Royal Drawing School.
Jing Kuang is a London based illustrator and printmaker originally from Guizhou, China whose work explores memory, time, and emotion through monoprinting and mixed media. Her visual language blends fragmented forms, recurring motifs, and simplified figures to express complex emotional states. Themes of identity, belonging, and the tension between freedom and confinement permeate her practice. Her printmaking process, particularly monotype, is valued for its unpredictability and expressive textures that echo the nonlinear nature of memory. In 2024, her project on Alzheimer's disease was shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards.
Paul K Majek (b. 2000) is based in London and received his BFA in Fine Art from the University of Oxford's Ruskin School of Art (2023) and completed postgraduate studies at the Royal Drawing School (2024). His work explores the fluidity of figures, engaging with themes of memory, generational dialogue, and spirituality. Working primarily with oil, acrylic, and charcoal on wood, canvas, and paper, he employs layering techniques to experiment with opacity and transparency. In 2024, Majek participated in a residency at Borgo Pignano in Italy and received the Next Gen Masters award from Bicester Village x LUX Magazine. His work has been acquired by collectors and featured in exhibitions including Stretching the Light at Rele Gallery (2024), Within Our Midst at O'DA Art Gallery in Lagos, Nigeria, and was shortlisted for the Ingram Prize with work exhibited at Unit 1 Gallery Workshop. His drawings were included in Best of the Drawing Year 2024 at Christie's.
These artists were selected from an international open call, making this collaboration a celebration of emerging talent and creative risk taking. Every piece is a wearable collaboration offering a direct bridge between gallery wall and everyday wardrobe.
