About This Event

The Francis Crick Institute in London will host a free Transplant Research Evening on Thursday 10 September, starting at 6pm. The event is designed to bring together transplant doctors, academics, and members of the public for an open dialogue on the future of organ transplantation. Attendees will hear about current research in the field and will have the opportunity to ask questions, as well as offer their own views on how this vital work should be conducted. This evening forms part of a broader community engagement initiative aimed at making medical research more open and inclusive. No tickets are required and entry is free of charge.

Join us for an event with world-leading doctors and researcher to hear about their research. Have your say on how the work should be done!

Join Us for the Transplant Research Evening!

Get ready for an exciting in-person event all about heart transplant and heart regeneration research with the teams from the University of Cambridge and the Royal Papworth Hospital. The event will involve a series of short talks by academics and doctors. We will also have a transplant recipient sharing their story of receiving a heart, and a family member of an organ donor speaking of their experience of going through the organ donation process with their loved one.

We also want to hear what you have to say about this research! We will break into small groups where we encourage people to share their opinions about this work and have the chance to voice what they want done and how they want it done. We are here to listen to you, just as much as we are here to speak to you.

Food & refreshments will be provided and all the speakers and facilitators will be around for further discussions throughout the event.

Note that there will be videos of organs being perfused outside the body
