Accompanying walk: London’s Village’s: Bow and Mile End

Starting from the booking hall of Bow Road Underground Station (Circle, District and Hammersmith & City Lines), this walk tells the stories of a number of remarkable women who have left their stamp on the area, as well as some of their male counterparts. Along the way to Stepney Green Station, Pete Smith will explain what went on at the scandalous Green Goose Fair and what linked butchery to fine China. The walk also takes in an historic Jewish cemetery, an upmarket Welsh estate, and the home of a notorious Victorian murderer.
