Whitechapel & Bethnal Green Guided Walking Tour with Paul Talling is scheduled for 6 December 2026 starting at Whitechapel Station in London. Tickets are available to check on the website for this guided walking tour.
A walk covering many of the sites covered on www.derelictlondon.com and in author Paul Talling's Derelict London books including parts of the Royal London Hospital, a dilapidated Whitechapel drinking fountain & the abandoned former Shoreditch Underground Station.
In addition to more random dereliction, there will be some stories of the Krays, Jack the Ripper and plenty of tangents including the KLF, Suzi Quattro, Cock Sparrer, The Libertines, Minder, old railway arches, flytipping, rats & a few wrecked cars. In addition to this we shall be touching on the Black Ditch, one of London's Lost Rivers and tracing the social history of over a dozen lost pubs along the walk including the Seven Stars in Brick Lane featured in the very first edition of Derelict London.
Decent cafés are sparse around Whitechapel Station, so people usually have breakfast before the walk in Spoons near Stepney Green station.
Duration of walk: Approx 4 to 4 1/2 hours
The finishes nearby Whitechapel Station, where there will be plenty of opportunity to have a drink with Paul in a local pub.
Dogs are welcome. By purchasing a ticket for a walk, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
* Although public liability insurance is held, the organiser shall not be held responsible for accidents, injury, loss or damage to persons or property as a consequence of participation in Paul Talling's walks. Ticket holders are responsible for their safety while taking part in a walk. The guide is responsible for showing ticket holders sites of interest, but not to steward ticket holders across roads etc.
* The tour goes ahead regardless of the weather. No refunds due to inclement weather are given.
* The walk will depart promptly at the advertised time & will not wait for late-comers. If a ticket holder misses the walk, no refund will be given. You are strongly urged to check TFL for weekend engineering works that may affect your journey.
* Once a ticket has been purchased, the agency is unable to offer a refund or swap dates.
