The World Bog Snorkelling Championship is part of a two-day World Bog Series taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend in Llanwrtyd Wells, Wales . The World Bog Snorkelling Championship attracts around 150 competitors. The world world record bog snorkelling champion is Neil Rutter with a time of 1 minute 18.82 set in 2018. Truly an international event, entrants have travelled from Australia, Germany, France, USA, Italy, South Africa, Poland, Spain and Japan to this small bog in Wales. Previous celebrity bog snorkelers have included sportsmen Ewan Thomas, Gareth Thomas and Donovan Bailey, as well as comedians Paddy McGuiness and Griff Rhys-Jones. A popular category is the Fancy Dress, where awards are handed out for the best costumes. People have come dressed as a pantomime horse and with an ironing board, but not together. Entrants can compete either as an individual or a relay team of three, each doing their own specialist discipline. There is a ‘bite-size’ Triathlon for the less crazy. Other Events Or there is belly flopping, wife carrying, husband dragging, mountain bike bog cycling, and ditch racing to try, as the event coincides with the World Alternative Games. Those not wishing to get involved can enjoy the live music, food stalls and local craft stalls, as well as a bouncy castle for the real kids. Grown up varieties can enjoy a pint of Boggled brewed in the Heart of Wales. Husband Dragging Where is the World Bog Snorkelling Championship Held?
