About This Event

WILLOW BASKET MAKING is a one-day workshop taking place at The Goodlife Centre in London on 14 November 2026. Led by experienced basket maker John Page, participants will learn the traditional techniques of willow weaving to create a shallow basket. This workshop is suitable for beginners and aims to produce durable and aesthetically pleasing results.

**Bookable via our website ➡️** [https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/basket-making/](https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/basket-making/) **⋆⋆⋆** A classic craft with a contemporary flair. Our rush and willow weaving courses are one day workshops in London and perfect for beginners. Great Britain has a long tradition of basket making and techniques we use today were developed thousands of years ago. We offer two distinct types of basket making. Both are easy to pick up, perfect for absolute beginners and both produce marvellous results. **Willow Baskets** were what we used to carry our shopping home in before the invention of plastic bags. Over one day, experienced basket maker John Page will guide you through the stages of making a gorgeous traditional shallow basket in English Willow. This is an excellent beginners’ project in ‘stake and strand’ technique resulting in very durable and strong structure.
