Donate gifts to children in hospital this festive season! Help bring joy, comfort and smiles to our poorly patients from 0-16 years.

Christmas Grotto at Lister Hospital 🎄

We would like to welcome you to our Christmas Grotto at Lister Hospital, where you can donate gifts to bring some much-needed Christmas cheer to children who are spending the festive season in hospital.

Our Christmas Grotto will run from Monday 14 December through to Thursday 17 December 2026, with slots available each day from 9am to 4pm. These slots are suitable for companies or organisations for donations of 30 gifts or more. If you are donatining a smaller number of gifts please email the charity on charity.enh-tr@nhs.net to arrange. We really appreciate each and every donation.

Please ensure donations are:

Brand new and in their original packaging

Individual gifts that can be taken home and enjoyed by a child

Suitable for children and young people aged 0–16 years

Appropriate for children who are currently in hospital

How to make a cash donation or send a gift instead

If you would like to support our children's wards but can't make it to our Christmas Grotto, you can still help spread some festive joy.

You can purchase a gift through our Amazon Wishlist (https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/3IWTG111LHGP9?ref_=wl_share). Gifts purchased through the wishlist will be delivered directly to the charity, where they will be taken to the ward and given to children and young people in hospital.

Alternatively, you can make a donation (http://www.enhhcharity.org.uk/magicofplay) to the Childrens Big Build appeal. Your kind donation can help us provide toys, games, consoles, iPads and other much-needed items to entertain, comfort and distract children during their hospital stay.

Visiting the Christmas Grotto

Please arrive promptly at the time of your scheduled visit to help the Christmas Grotto run smoothly.

We can welcome a maximum of 6 visitors per slot to deliver their gifts. Visitors may also have the opportunity to take a festive photo with our paediatric team, if they are available at the time of your visit.

Details about the location of the Christmas Grotto within Lister Hospital will be sent to visitors closer to the event.

Please do not visit the hospital site unannounced with gifts if you have not booked an appointment slot.
