About This Event

Family Growing, Nature Craft Homeschool Sessions will take place at Memorial Park Community Garden in Luton on August 26, 2026. The sessions are fully funded and involve growing plants in the community garden.

Fully funded sessions for families to get outside, growing plants in our community garden and to take home!

We are excited to offer sessions for Luton families with children under 10, to attend our Community Food Hub in Luton Hoo Memorial Park. Book now to join us growing plants , exploring wildlife & creating crafts inspired by nature.

Wednesdays, 10.30am - 12 noon.

Tickets released each month.

Where: Memorial Park Community Garden (can be found at the back of the park, behind the old lodge near the tennis courts).

Sessions will centre on horticulture, conservation and crafts. Together we will learn how to grow our own food, growing tasty fruits and veggies. We will help bring more wildlife into the garden, by undertaking conservation projects, such as building bug hotels and butterfly feeders. We will also get creative, doing nature-themed crafts and activities to take home. All materials will be provided.

The sessions will take place outdoors, so please come dressed and prepared for the weather. This means waterproofs and jackets if you have them, shoes that can get muddy, or suncream in the Summer. We will only cancel the sessions in severe weather. We will still be out if it is lightly raining! Please also bring any drinks or snacks that you will require.

We have a composting toilet onsite, as well as handwashing facilities.

Parking is available in the car park off West Hill Road. The nearest bus stops are for the 321, 610 and 721, the Tennyson House stop.

Booking terms and conditions:

Please only book tickets for children who are attending, i.e. if you and your 3 children will be attending, please book 3 tickets.

If tickets are sold out, please join the waitlist rathert than showing up with no ticket.

If you change your mind about attending, please cancel your booking 24 hours before the session, to allow someone else to join instead. Alternatively, email me.

We understand things happen - if you need to cancel last minute, please contact kealey.henderson@groundwork.org.uk to let us know the reason you are unable to attend. PLEASE NOTE: if you fail to attend 2 sessions without contacting us, you will not be able to purchase tickets to attend any future sessions. These sessions are in-demand and we do not want others to miss out if you do not attend.
