Arguably the most famous region of Romania, Transylvania has long been associated with Bram Stoker's Dracula, but this is not all this mysterious place is known for. Spend a week walking in Romania and uncover the natural beauty and Baroque and Gothic architecture that pierces the skyline. You'll also have the opportunity to explore Bran Castle, believed to be the home of the fictional Count Dracula.

Our walking holidays in Romania take in the extraordinary sights of Transylvania and the Carpathian Mountains. This spectacular mountain range cuts through Romania and is home to some of the wildest trails in Europe. Wild forests, ancient fortresses, timeless villages and soaring peaks come together in a visual symphony that will undoubtedly astound you.

Owing to its medieval castles, enchanting scenery and fascinating history, Transylvania is steeped in folk legends and for centuries has been the inspiration for fairy tales. During our guided walking holidays in Romania, we journey through Bucegi National Park. Enveloped by the Bucegi Mountains, this is one of the best viewpoints for experiencing magnificent scenery.

As part of our adventure, we will also visit a bear sanctuary, where rescued brown bears roam in naturalistic habitats. This extraordinary experience offers a rare chance to see these magnificent animals up close while learning about Romania’s conservation efforts.
