About This Event

The Teacher-Artist Exchange: Sharing Practice event will occur on 13 November 2026 at Broadway Gallery in Letchworth Garden City. This session will explore the collaboration between artists and teachers in supporting pupils' wellbeing. Attendance is free.

What happens when artists and teachers work together to support pupils' wellbeing? Discover the impact of transforming classroom practice

For the past two years, teachers and artists across Letchworth have worked side by side, exploring how visual arts can support children's social, emotional and mental wellbeing by helping them understand and regulate their emotions through creative activities.

Backed by £164,000 of funding from Paul Hamlyn Foundation, the project has brought real, tangible outcomes to teachers and children in our local schools. Through the project we have seen:

Increased teacher confidence, creativity and leadership

Increased emotional expression, communication and engagement for children

Schools embedding long-term initiatives, using support strategies and interventions which have been piloted in this programme

Join us for an afternoon of sharing practice and celebration. See and hear examples of the work, talk to the teachers and artists involved, and hear what we've learned along the way.

Tea, cake and conversation included. We'd love you to see you there.

When: Friday 13th November, 13:30 – 16:00

Where: Broadway Gallery, 2 The Arcade, Letchworth Garden City SG6 3ES

Who: Open to teachers, artists and those working across education, culture and wellbeing - no prior involvement needed

Cost: Free to attend
