Join artist Jessica El Mal & curator Brit Seaton for a multi-lingual poetry brunch at Longsight Art Space
On Sunday 22nd November, 11:30am-1:30pm, the Quiet Time Arts exhibition 'The soil hums ultra sound' provides a gathering space for a special poetry brunch, hosted by artist Jessica El Mal and curator Brit Seaton.
Inspired by Jessica’s installation in the exhibition, 'Our Dreams of Jasmine', the workshop explores multilingual poems of love, nature and belonging.
The workshop takes the idea of sharing food as a way of connecting across cultures, and of relating to the natural world and each other, and applies it to poetry: just as we share a plate of food, we can be generous in sharing poetry.
We invite guests to read and share poems that resonate, in a welcoming setting with food and friends.
The poetry brunch is catered by our local favourites Sips & Dips, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
Reading and collaging materials are provided. Bring your own favourite poems and texts too!
