About This Event

Exploration of a hugely important topic through industry leading research, an expert panel followed by drinks, nibbles and networking. Are we obsessed with being likeable? It's official: we're a nation of people pleasers! But are good manners more important than productive confrontation? And how much do we shrink or change ourselves to be liked by others? This is a huge topic at work, and research shows that women are significantly more affected by what's called Likeability Labour - the mental and financial cost of making yourself more palatable to others. Social psychologist Amy Kean will explore the findings of Good Shout's research report: Shapeshifters, and explore all the unnecessary tactics we use to be liked at work. This will be followed by a brilliant discussion from comms industry experts about how likeability labour affects our everyday lives. There will also be plenty of opportunity for networking, pre and post event.
