💚 An introduction to oil and wax painting.

- Forget perfection and step into experimentation.

- Join me for an informal and exploratory online workshop using oil paint and cold wax to create atmospheric contemporary landscapes.

In this guided session you will be taken step by step through the process of building paintings in layers using wax and oil paints. We will explore mark making, texture and line through a range of tools and techniques, encouraging playful discovery and confident experimentation.

You will work on specialist paper suitable for oil painting and aim to complete at least one finished piece by the end of the workshop.

The session will include demonstrations, technical guidance and plenty of supported studio time to develop your own work.

Knowledge areas include:

• Introduction to using wax medium with oils.

• Introduction to tools and equipment.

• Understanding drying times.

• Working wet on wet.

• Building layers of colour.

• Creating textures and lines with a variety of tools.

• Blending techniques.
