About This Event

On 7 November 2026, from 10:30 AM onwards at Staircase House in Manchester, an array of artists will lead participants through a day devoted to the timeless practice of printing. This event combines the depth and drama of live theatre with hands-on workshops, offering an immersive journey into two unique printing techniques. Attendees will witness the powerful transformation as ink merges with paper under expert guidance, creating narratives that echo the essence of creativity. The day promises a blend of personal stories and universal themes, making this a truly enriching experience for all who seek to explore the artistry behind printmaking.

The event takes place at Staircase House in Manchester on 7 November 2026, from 10:30 AM onwards. The day is divided into two distinct printing techniques: screen printing and Gelli-Plate printing.

Caroline Coates is the artist leading the workshops. She will introduce participants to screen printing by guiding them through making their own stencil and printing onto a reusable canvas bag.

Participants are asked to bring a T-shirt if they wish to screen print one. All materials for both printing techniques are provided. The day will break for lunch, allowing attendees to bring their own packed lunch or explore the nearby options for food and drink.
