About This Event

Earthquakes in London will be performed on 20 March 2027 at the Grosvenor East theatre, Manchester Metropolitan University. This play by Mike Bartlett explores themes of fear, family, and environmental concerns through a fast-paced narrative. Tickets are available for £5.00.

Earthquakes in London hurtles from 1968 to 2525 in a wild, high‑voltage sweep through collapsing futures and over‑heated presents. Mike Bartlett’s explosive play smashes together burlesque mayhem, apocalyptic visions, social free fall, and a world spiralling into paranoia, all at breakneck speed.

Hailed as “the theatrical equivalent of a thrilling roller coaster ride” when it premiered at the National Theatre, the city of London pulses with excess in this high-octane epic about fear, family, and the fragile planet beneath our feet.
