Frankly, The Smiths, Scotland’s sole tribute to the iconic band, will bring their set to the Star & Garter in Manchester on Saturday 30 January 2027. The evening commences at 7pm, with the group working through a catalogue of jangling guitars and precise, melancholic vocals that faithfully recreate the atmosphere of a classic Smiths gig. Formed in 2017, they have since played venues such as Glasgow’s O2 Academy and Edinburgh’s Liquid Room, and return to Manchester following a sold-out show at the same venue last year. The room fills with the tension between Morrissey’s wry detachment and Johnny Marr’s bright, layered riffs, drawing a crowd that knows every word. Tickets are priced at £12.
