The Afrobeat & Jazz-Funk Session at White Label

Join us every Friday at White Label for a sensory journey where sound, taste and culture collide.

Each week, our resident selectors curate a dedicated vinyl and digital session celebrating the pioneers of global music, pairing iconic sounds with food and cocktails inspired by their cultural roots. This week, we explore the infectious rhythms of Fela Kuti, Cymande, Ezra Collective and Ibibio Sound Machine. Expect a vibrant soundtrack of Afrobeat, jazz-funk, West African highlife, relentless polyrhythms, heavy brass and the unmistakable energy of London's contemporary jazz scene.

Drawing inspiration from the rich culinary traditions of West Africa and in collaboration with IBILE, we're bringing bold flavours to the table with three specially curated dishes:

Beef Suya & Jollof Rice — Spiced beef suya served with fragrant West African jollof rice. £15.90

Tatashe-Butter Prawns with Agege Bread — Succulent prawns in a rich, pepper-infused tatashe butter, served with soft Agege bread. £12

Ewa Agoyin & Plantain Chips — Traditional Nigerian-style beans with a deeply flavoured pepper sauce, accompanied by crispy plantain chips. £8
