Join us on our first monthly Saturday Photo walk around Manchester & Salford - learn techniques, have fun & meet other like minded people!

September Photo Walk: A general photowalk to introduce our team here at Leica Store Manchester. Please come along with any camera that you have - any compact or SLR camera, digital or film, all are welcome!

Join us at 10:30am on Saturday September 5th, outside our Leica Store Manchester shop for a Saturday Morning Photowalk around the streets and canals of Manchester and Salford.

For our first monthly photo walk we will be focussing on the shapes and patterns found within our city’s architecture and the contrast found between the old and the new city centre buildings.

Good composition will be essential for your photographs to convey the scale and connection between the old and the new - we will be looking at repeating patterns, leading lines, symmetry and shape to help compose our images.

Photo opportunities are aplenty along this route - from the old Salford streets off Chapel Street, to the more modern and brutal architecture found around The Slate Yard, with the old mills and factories contrasting with the new tower blocks and modern glass covered structures found around the Castlefield Canal basin. The return route offers similar opportunities.

No matter what camera system you use - whether film or digital, all are welcome to join us on our walk.

However, a camera equipped with a standard zoom (24-70mm) or a wider prime lens (28/35mm) may be useful in order to capture the wide urban landscapes as well as any street scenes that you may wish to photograph.

All ages and abilities are welcome.

Saturday September 5th 2026 at 10:30am for a prompt departure from Leica Store Manchester, 9 Police Street, Manchester M2 7LG.

Price & Places:

Book your place for a small fee of £10:00 which is fully refundable on anything that you wish to purchase from Leica Store Manchester, either on the day or at a later date - there is no closing date for ticket redemption.

Places are strictly limited to 20 attendees for each walk.
