Join us on the 8th February 2027 for the Modern Cancer Pain Management Study Day. This event is Hybrid
Overview
Cancer pain is one of the most challenging and undertreated aspects of oncology care, with growing evidence highlighting the need for more personalised, multimodal approaches that go far beyond opioid prescribing alone. As more people live longer with cancer, including those managing incurable disease, the complexity of pain presentations increases, spanning neuropathic, bone, visceral and total pain along with the psychological and existential dimensions that are often left unaddressed.
This hybrid study day brings together leading experts in pain medicine, palliative care, pharmacy, nursing and integrative oncology to provide an up-to-date, practical review of modern cancer pain management. The programme is grounded in current evidence and shaped directly by the real-world challenges healthcare professionals told us matter most
Intended Audience
This study day is for all healthcare professionals involved in the care of people living with cancer. Whether you are new to cancer pain management or looking to refresh and consolidate your knowledge, the day is designed to be relevant and across all experience levels and care settings.

Oral pain and the role of imaging in cancer pain assessment
Pain in frailty and managing acute pain in a cancer centre
Cannabis-based medicines and the evolving evidence base
Lidocaine plasters and topical pain remedies: practical applications

Complex case discussions across different care settings
Novel and less commonly used analgesics: clonidine, nefopam, lacosamide and newer agents including naldemidine
