Join us for a day of wildlife exploration, test your identification skills and help us learn more about the creatures & plants that call Hatchett's Wood home!

Activities we will be carrying out throughout the day include:

BioBlitz bingo

Bird surveys

Woodland and mini-beast hunts

This activity is suitable for families and adults - pop by for an hour or stay the full day.

If you have a smartphone, please download the iNaturalist app and search for the 'Project' 'Wythenshawe Woodlands Bioblitz' in order to record species on the day. If you do not have access to a smartphone or wish to record on paper, there will be this option on the day.

Time & Location

10 am - 3 pm at Hatchett's Wood, Wythenshawe, M22 0FB.

Parking/public transport

There is residential parking along Hatchett Road and Coxton Road. Please be mindful of leaving space for residents to use their driveways.

The nearest Metrolink stop is Robinswood Road, a 5 minute walk away.

The nearest bus stops are Robinswood Road Metorlink Stop B (Stop ID: MANGTJGP) and Robinswood Road Metrolink Stop D (Stop ID: MANGPTGT) where the following bus routes stop: 11, 43, 130, 368, 716, 731, 768.

About the site

Hatchett's Wood is a public wood. The area where we will be working has uneven ground, thick vegetation, and informal paths through the woodland.
