About This Event

The British Muslim Heritage Centre hosts a ten-week course titled Shadows of Deception starting on 17 November 2026.

A 10-week course on the Devil's Deceptions and how to protect your faith

SHADOWS OF DECƎPTION

Unmasking the Tricks & Traps of Shayṭān

Know Your Enemy. Expose His Deceptions. Protect Your Faith.

An enemy you cannot see. A battle you cannot afford to ignore. A deception that began with Adam (peace be upon him) and continues to this very day.

Since the beginning of mankind, Shayṭān has waged a relentless campaign to mislead humanity, weaken faith and turn people away from Allah. But who exactly is Iblīs? How did his rebellion begin? What strategies does he use? And most importantly, how can we protect ourselves and our families from his influence?

Shadows of Deception is a fascinating 10-week Islamic studies course that takes you on a journey into the unseen world of Iblīs, the jinn and the many traps of Shayṭān.

Drawing upon the Qur'an, authentic Sunnah and explanations of Islamic scholars, this course will uncover the origins of Iblīs, his confrontation with Adam, the tactics he employs against mankind, and the realities of magic, fortune-telling, jinn possession and ruqyah.

We will also explore some of the greatest trials associated with the Last Days, including the Dajjāl and Ya’jūj and Ma’jūj, before concluding with practical guidance on safeguarding your faith, family and home.

What Will You Discover?

The Dawn of Darkness: The origins of Iblīs, his arrogance, rebellion and downfall.

His Adversary: The creation of Adam and the first great deception.

The Devil's War Plan: Understanding the strategies, tricks and traps of Shayṭān.

The Army of Darkness: Exploring the mysterious world of the Jinn and the followers of Iblīs.

Weapons of Darkness: The realities and dangers of magic, fortune-telling and amulets.

Demonic Attack: Understanding Jinn possession, exorcisms and Ruqyah.

The Reign of Deception: The coming of the Dajjāl, his trials and the return of Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him).

The Final Onslaught: The emergence of Ya’jūj and Ma’jūj and the events surrounding their appearance.

The Final Defence: Practical ways to protect yourself, your family and your home from the influence of Shayṭān and his army.

Why Attend?

This course is not simply about discovering the unseen. It is about recognising deception, strengthening your Imān, distinguishing authentic Islamic teachings from myths and superstitions, and learning how to seek Allah's protection in everyday life.

Whether you're new to Islamic studies or looking to deepen your understanding, this engaging and thought-provoking course is designed to make important Islamic teachings accessible, relevant and practical.

The greatest danger is not knowing that you have an enemy, but failing to recognise how he operates.

Join us for Shadows of Deception and learn to recognise the traps of Shayṭān before you fall into them.
