About This Event

The Signpost Challenge Hike is set to take place on Sunday 18 October 2026, with participants gathering at Marple Senior Citizen’s Hall in Manchester to begin the day’s trek. This demanding yet scenic route follows a hilly course heading north and east of Marple, taking in the striking landscapes of Werneth Low, Cown Edge, Lantern Pike and Chinley Churn within the High Peak. Walkers are expected to complete the entire hike within a ten-hour window, all the while keeping a keen eye out for Peak and Northern footpath signs scattered along the way. The event is organised in collaboration by a number of local groups, and tickets are priced as detailed on the official website.
