Intrigued by urban sketching? Now’s the time to shake off those inhibitions and come and see what all the fuss is about.

This is a gentle step-by-step approach to putting pen to paper and building up the courage to go out there and capture the urban scene. You’ll soon be hooked.

The workshop starts with a short presentation on what urban sketching is all about and a preview of the day’s activities. When everyone is set we hit the streets and do a series of demonstrations and group exercises.

You’ll overcome your fear of drawing outside and build up some techniques that will set you on the road to becoming an urban sketcher.

We’ll break for lunch but this is not included in the fee.

We will meet at 10am at Fort Coffee, Sevendale House, Lever Street, Northern Quarter, M1 1JA.

If the weather is bad the location will change to Castlefield and the meeting point will be the café at Campfield Market. I will confirm this by email a few days before the workshop.

Bring your own materials. A pen and small sketchbook is all you need. If you have some watercolours that would be good. A stool is essential.

Cancellation Policy. If there is a waiting list and I can fill your place with someone else there will be no charge for cancelling. If there is no waiting list then: You can cancel upto four weeks before the event then no charge; two weeks before then a 50% refund; after that no refunds, sorry.

The £45 ticket price will have a small Eventbrite fee added.
