ABOUT KATY:
After graduating from Central Saint Martins, Katy built a successful career in graphic design, working in New York and London at the renowned agency Pentagram and with clients including Channel 4, BBC, and Vodafone. Her work has even appeared in The New York Times.
A life-changing event led her back to making by hand, working creatively with limited resources. From this grew her signature practice of “paper and stitch” - breathing new life into traditional craft through sustainability, storytelling, and mindful attention.
Today, sharing this practice is at the heart of what she does. Her workshops offer calm, creativity, and gentle connection - spaces where you can unwind, make with intention, and leave feeling a little more grounded than when you arrived.

PREVIOUS ATTENDEES' REVIEW:
"She MakesThings workshops offer far more than the art of card making. The intricate concepts woven into every stitch have served as a powerful mentoring program for me. With every punch and needle stroke, the process taught me mindfulness and presence—a method thoughtfully designed to help anyone, regardless of experience, find grounding in the moment. Thanks to the gentle guidance provided from day one, I learned to cultivate patience and enter a meditative state. Within just a few months, I was designing my own paper cross-stitch pieces to give as framed gifts to loved ones. Developing a skill with a new material has given me an immense sense of confidence and purpose, and has become a vital tool in my recovery journey. I am incredibly grateful to She Makes Things for unlocking my creativity during a time when it felt entirely out of reach."
