Dive into a day full of eco-friendly zines, creative vibes, and green-themed fun with fellow zine lovers!

Join Tees Zine Works for a ‘green’ zine making workshop, inspired by and using elements of poetry and photography collected during three community ‘walkshops’ along the Tees to Topping(Opens in new window) and Durham City Green Corridors(Opens in new window).

The workshop involves making mini-zines, small tiny publications made from folded paper, with a rich history, which anyone can make. Participants will be able to use lots of different resources and materials and experiment making different forms and sizes of zine about local nature sites. This includes stamping, collage materials, using a vintage typewriter, as well as printed photos, artworks and poems made by local groups and submitted by members of the public.

The zines from the day will be brought together into a final publication which will be displayed at Ormesby Hall National Trust, Crook Hall National Trust and MIMA.

During the session, participants will also have the chance to view the Turner Prize exhibition at MIMA.

Materials and lunch/refreshements are provided. This event is part of the Teesside University, Durham University and the National Trust Being Human Festival 2026 Hub Programme.

The event will take place at MIMA which has step free access and accessible toilets.
