Embroidered Landscapes on paper is an inspiring textile workshop exploring new backgrounds
Embroidered Landscapes on paper is an inspiring textile workshop exploring new and interesting backgrounds for your stitching.
What we will do
The workshop begins with an introduction to embroidery on paper – the ways it can be used to push boundaries of materials and also how to avoid the pitfalls of stitching on paper. You’ll then choose from a wide selection of papers of different colours, textures and finishes to build up the background for your chosen landscape.
Details will be built up using hand embroidery with different and relevant stitches taught as the workshop progresses.
Creating your paper landscape in a small group of maximum of 10, allows for plenty of support and guidance when needed, a chance to ask all of the questions you have as well as being able to get to know those at the workshop with you.
This workshop is for those who enjoy being creative in new and innovative ways in the company of like minded people. There’s lots of time to make those creative connections as well as learning new embroidery techniques. People of all levels of embroidery experience are welcome, from complete beginners to the more accomplished embroiderer alike.
Each person will create their own unique embroidered paper landscape inspired by a favourite place, a special view or even a made up landscape.
