Walking workshop exploring the nature around Ormesby Hall.
Join Tees Valley Wildlife Trust poet-in-residence Kirsten Luckins for a mindful creative ‘walkshop’ for women, exploring nature around Ormesby Hall, one of the key places along the Tees to Topping green corridor.
Rather than focusing on distance, the session invites participants to slow down, pause and notice the natural world through sensory creative writing and eco-poetry. Together we will spend time looking closely at the environments we encounter – from moss, trees and waterways to the traces of urban nature that can easily be overlooked.
There will be opportunities for short walks, rest, conversation and writing, with the emphasis on experiencing place rather than completing a set route. Selected poems and writings will be shared as part of Green Zine Day on Sunday 15th November. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Tea/coffee and scones will be provided. This event is part of the Teesside University, Durham University and the National Trust Being Human Festival 2026 Hub Programme.
