How we can actually use AI to make our lives easier

AI FOR THE TECH SHY

Thursday 10th September 2026 | 6pm till 10pm

£10 in advance | £15 on the door

Bring TWO people who have never been to TPT before and you get in FREE.

This month we’ve got Hayley Brown, founder and CEO of ALLIN1.APP, coming along to talk about AI. Now, I know. AI. Everyone’s sick of hearing about it. Apparently it’s going to take all our jobs, run the world, make us all redundant and probably start buying HMOs in Middlesbrough before Christmas.

Boycey has actually been preparing for the inevitable machine uprising for some time by always saying please and thank you to his LLMs. His theory is that when the documentaries The Terminator, The Matrix and WALL-E eventually come true, the machines will go back through his ChatGPT history, see that he was one of the polite ones and maybe spare his life. Paul thinks he’s an idiot. We’ll see who’s laughing when Skynet arrives.

Joking apart, I reckon most of us are still only scratching the surface of what this stuff can actually do. We might use ChatGPT to write the odd email, research something, knock up a bit of content or answer a question we could probably have Googled, but things have moved on ridiculously quickly. God, does anyone remember that AI video of Will Smith trying to eat spaghetti only a few years ago? It looked like some sort of fever dream. Compare that with the images and video AI can generate now and it’s mental how far it’s come in such a short space of time.

And it’s not just images and videos anymore. We’re now talking AI agents and automations that can chase leads, deal with enquiries, research information, create content, organise things, follow people up and generally take care of some of the crap you seem to spend half your bloody week doing. That’s the bit I’m interested in.

I don’t want four hours of somebody explaining what a large language model is. I don’t want loads of predictions about what AI might be capable of in 2047. I want Hayley to show us what the bugger can actually do now, what’s worth using, what isn’t, what can save us time and what can save us money.

Hayley is basically an AI nerd, but thankfully she’s an AI nerd who knows how to explain this stuff to normal people. She runs ALLIN1.APP, a North East AI and automation agency helping businesses put AI to work through software, automation and AI agents dealing with things like sales, marketing and back-office work. She also runs her monthly Tech Shy workshops specifically for people who aren’t technical, which I suspect describes a decent chunk of the TPT audience.

After all, some of us can buy a derelict building at auction, refinance it, argue with planners and Building Control for six months, deal with tenants, builders, lenders and solicitors, then somehow find £30,000 when the roof, electrics and drains all shit themselves at exactly the same time. Ask us why the office printer won’t connect to the Wi-Fi, though, and we’re absolutely fucked.

So this should be a useful night for landlords, developers, investors, sourcers, agents, builders, brokers, architects, accountants and anyone else running a business who keeps thinking, “I know I should probably be using AI more.” You don’t need to know anything about coding, you don’t need to understand how any of it works under the bonnet, and you definitely don’t need to turn up wearing a black polo neck talking about disruption.

I also want to get into the stuff that’s a complete waste of time, because there’s a ridiculous amount of AI shite appearing every week as well. Every other day there seems to be another “game-changing” tool that’s going to transform your business, change your life and make you £47 million while you sleep. Some of it is brilliant. Some of it is basically ChatGPT wearing a different hat and charging you £29 a month. We’ll find out which is which.

If we can all come away from the night with a couple of things that save a few hours every month, that’s worth the tenner on its own. More time finding deals, more time growing the business, more time with the family, or more time sitting in the pub telling everyone you’re “networking”. All valid.

Obviously, despite the advances in artificial intelligence, we will still be holding the TPT sausage raffle. AI can now write software, generate photorealistic videos and run half your admin, but to our knowledge it has still never won a bag of sausages at Blackwell Grange. Humanity remains ahead. For now.

Thursday 10th September. £10 in advance. £15 on the door. Or bring TWO genuine TPT virgins and you get in FREE.

Come along. We might actually learn something that saves us all a load of time.

And if we don’t, there’s a bar.

The Infamous TPT Sausage Raffle

Artificial intelligence may be capable of generating images, writing software and analysing millions of pieces of information in seconds.

But can it correctly predict the winning ticket in the TPT sausage raffle?

No.
