Join us for the launch of See:MK, a new digital gallery on the 14th floor of Hotel La Tour, offering fantastic views over Grade II listed Campbell Park. The opening exhibition is a chance to meet artists, Sabre Majid and Beatrice Ní Bhroin, and discover more about the 20th century heritage at your feet!

This is the latest instalment in the ‘Urban Narratives’ series. The exhibition features films and photography inspired by Sabre’s hometown of Milton Keynes, highlighting the rich heritage of MK’s built environment over the last fifty years. Its new town heritage is defined by thoughtful planning, innovation, and aesthetics. But how does the character of a place affect the ideas and feelings of the people who live there?

In their recent film, ‘Between Spaces’, Sabre and co-director Beatrice capture the calm yet powerful presence of the boulevards and buildings that are the stage on which everyday life plays out.

In two new works, designed for the space at See:MK, Sabre celebrates the vistas we have inherited as a result of those first, heroic efforts to create a democratic ‘city of trees’ amid the social, political and economic turmoil of the 1970’s. The other new artwork explores the listed structures in CMK. These are the exceptional 20th century buildings, sculptures and parkland that Historic England has singled out for their national importance, and what they tell us about Britain’s largest, most innovative and successful new town.
