About This Event

The MK Cycling Summit takes place at The Open University on 15 October 2026. Leaders from council, business, and education sectors will discuss strategies to increase cycling and close the gender pedal gap in Milton Keynes. The event is free to attend.

MK Council, business, education and community leaders share vision, best practice and actions to increase cycling in Milton Keynes.

Opportunity for MK government, business, education and community leaders to share vision and best practice in helping their people get healthier and happier through cycling, especially by encouraging women to cycle. Delegates will hear from local and national experts who have increased cycling rates in their communities. (See short video of last year's Symposium at Unity Place.)

The Summit aims to:

Bring alliance members together to report issues they face increasing cycling participation

Hear from local and national experts about best practice to address the issues

Work together as members to prepare asks of Council, police, business and other city leaders to address the issues

Empower Council, police, business and other city leaders to pledge actions to address the issues.

The Summit will be moderated by Baroness Ann Limb, educationalist, philanthropist, business leader and charity entrepreneur.

Delegates will hear from speakers from Active Travel England, the University of West England, Milton Keynes Council and local businesses, as well as members of the Cycling Citizens MK Alliance and The Open University, who are hosting the Summit.

We will also be holding a Dr Bike service run by Cycle Saviours during the event, offering free minor bike repairs and advice.

This event is supported with funding from MK Community Foundation.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
