About This Event

Enter the ballot for Moon Night 2026 and discover lunar science, space exploration, meteorites and live entertainment. Join us at The Open University campus for Moon Night 2026, our annual celebration of lunar science, space exploration, astronomy, and discovery. This year, Moon Night will bring together leading space scientists, hands-on activities and citizen science opportunities. Learn how the Moon continues to shape modern space exploration and hear from researchers working on missions that are advancing our understanding of the Solar System. We are also delighted to welcome Impropera, whose unique blend of improvised opera, music and performance will provide a memorable and entertaining addition to this year's event. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet scientists, explore cutting-edge research, hold genuine meteorites, try interactive space activities, learn about instruments heading into space, and even contribute to real scientific research through citizen science projects. Please note: Tickets will be allocated through a ballot process. Registration via Eventbrite constitutes an application only and does not guarantee attendance. All under-18s attending Moon Night must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult. How the Ticket Ballot Works Due to the exceptional demand for Moon Night in previous years, and the long waiting lists created when tickets sold out, we are introducing a ballot system for 2026. This approach gives everyone an equal opportunity to attend and helps ensure tickets are allocated as fairly as possible. Step 1: Enter the Ballot Register your interest through this Eventbrite page during the ballot application period. Entry is free and open for six weeks. You can enter for a maximum of 4 tickets. Step 2: Ballot Draw After the ballot closes, successful applicants will be selected at random. Step 3: Ticket Offer Successful applicants will be contacted approximately two weeks before the event and offered up to four tickets. Step 4: Accept within 48 Hours Successful applicants will have 48 hours to accept their ticket offer. Step 5: Unclaimed Tickets Reallocated If an offer is not accepted within 48 hours, the tickets will be offered to the next person on the reserve list. This process will continue until all available tickets have been allocated.
