Pelvic Health, Unfiltered: Sport, Strength & Solutions
Pelvic health problems are incredibly common, but they are not normal, and they're rarely talked about, especially among active women and athletes. Leaking during a run, feeling pressure or heaviness after a heavy lifting session, pelvic pain that no one warned you about after having kids: these are issues so many sporty women quietly manage alone, often assuming it's just "part of being active" or "part of getting older." It isn't, and it doesn't have to be.
Join TOP Physiotherapy for an honest, open evening dedicated to pelvic health in sport and exercise. We're bringing this conversation out of the clinic and into the pub, because talking openly, over a drink, with other women who get it, is often the first step towards actually doing something about it.
What we'll cover
Urinary urgency and leaking (stress and urge incontinence) during running, lifting, jumping and other sport
Pelvic organ prolapse: what it actually is, common symptoms, and why it's so misunderstood
Pelvic girdle pain and diastasis recti (abdominal separation), particularly postnatal
Returning to running, lifting and high-impact sport safely after pregnancy or pelvic floor issues
Practical strategies you can start using immediately, from breathing and bracing techniques to load management
When and why to see a pelvic health physiotherapist, and what an assessment actually involves
Who it's for
Any woman who's active in sport or exercise, whatever your level, whether you're a weekend park-runner, a serious lifter, a postnatal mum easing back into fitness, or someone who's been quietly putting up with symptoms for years and wants answers. No prior knowledge needed, and no question is too awkward. That's the point.
Format
A relaxed, informal talk led by our pelvic health specialist, followed by an open Q&A. Come with questions, come with a friend, come ready for a conversation that's normally whispered to be said out loud instead.
