Join us for a farm walk at Cranley Barn Farms, held in partnership with Anglian Water and AHDB, where owner and Regenerate Outcomes mentor Tom Edmondson will guide us around his diverse, family-run farming business.

Based near Milton Keynes, Tom farms arable, pork, beef, lamb, eggs, honey, bread and vegetables, alongside a busy farm shop. The farm's approach is centred around improving soil health, reducing reliance on artificial inputs, increasing biodiversity and producing healthy food.

Tom will share how the farm is putting regenerative principles into practice, including integrating livestock into arable systems, maintaining living roots, minimising soil disturbance and protecting the soil surface. These approaches are helping to build soil structure and fertility, support biodiversity and improve the farm's ability to cycle water and nutrients.

The walk will explore the important relationship between healthy soils, water management and farm resilience, with particular focus on how improving infiltration and water-holding capacity can help farms deal with drought, increasingly unpredictable weather and limited water availability. We'll also look at the role of soils in carbon capture and storage, and how improving soil function can contribute to both environmental and business outcomes. Regenerate Outcomes will be onsite to discuss all things soil carbon, baselining and verified carbon credits. A BBQ will be provided (produce from Cranley Barn Farms!) and light refreshments throughout the event.

This farm walk provides an opportunity to see regenerative principles in practice, hear directly from Tom about his experience, and explore how healthier soils can help farmers capture carbon, manage water more effectively and build greater resilience into their businesses.

About Regenerate Outcomes

Regenerate Outcomes rewards farmers for increasing soil carbon through baselining and carbon credits alongside farmer led soil health mentoring. All services are provided at no upfront cost to farmers and Regenerate Outcomes retains a share of credits in return.

The mentoring – delivered by experienced regenerative farmers - is tailored to each individual farming business rather than prescribing a particular system or set of practices. The aim is to help farmers identify opportunities that work within their unique context, while improving soil health, crop and livestock performance, farm profitability and long-term business resilience.

Members receive a rigorous soil carbon baseline and ongoing measurement. Soil carbon is physically sampled and measured, rather than relying solely on modelling, with the programme following the internationally recognised Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) VM0042 methodology. The resulting verified carbon credits can be retained by farmers or sold to generate an additional income stream.

Regenerate Outcomes are working with over 185 farms and estates across 75,000ha of farmland.

The walk will begin outside the Cranley Barn farm shop (postcode MK19 6DD, What3Word ///premature.swimmer.handrail) and will be led by Tom Edmondson.

Cranley Barn Farm is a working farm with livestock, machinery and uneven ground. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for the weather conditions. We will be walking through fields, long grass and on uneven terrain, and the walk will go ahead in most weather conditions.

For everyone's safety, we ask that you follow all instructions and guidance provided during the walk and observe any signs or notices around the farm. Please do not touch any machinery, equipment or animals unless specifically invited to do so.

As this is a working farm, we recommend washing hands before eating and after any contact with the farm environment.

Please note that toilet facilities are limited and consist of a compostable toilet.
