Biography - William Prince

Bill was born and bred in industrial North Tyneside and currently lives in Cramlington.

He has been an avid reader of historical fiction, for more years than he cares to remember, and he particularly enjoys the work of Bernard Cornwell, Simon Scarrow, Conn Iggulden and many others.

As a mature student, he studied history at Newcastle University and graduated with honours.

He has recently, independently, published his second novel Border of Lies, which is a sequel to his first book A Storm in the North.

A Storm in the North, is a medieval adventure story, primarily set in Northumberland at the very beginning of the conflict we now know as The Wars of the Roses, and particularly the years 1453-1455.

It follows the story of Rob Gibson, an innkeeper’s son who is desperate to escape the dismal future that is planned for him.

When Rob encounters an injured nobleman and decides to help him, it seems as if fate has provided a once in a lifetime opportunity.

This act of kindness leads to Rob becoming pitched into a rapidly escalating local feud. A feud that will see him not only gain steadfast comrades but also attract deadly enemies.

Set in a period when a vicious dynastic vendetta threatens to plunge a troubled nation into open warfare, Rob and his companions face mortal danger as they are dragged into the centre of events that will change the course of British history forever.

Border of Lies, is the sequel to A Storm in the North, and continues Rob’s journey. It is set in the summer 1458, three years since the Battle of St. Albans, and England broods beneath an uneasy peace. In Northumberland, however, war is coming, and Rob Gibson and his comrades in arms must ride north to once again face the raw peril of battle.

But little do they know that the real danger already rides with them.
